Muslim Scholars’ Assembly Condemns U.S. Interference, Rejects Negotiations with “Zionist Enemy”

The Board of the Muslim Scholars’ Assembly said in a statement released after its regular session that recent incursions by U.S. officials into the region—presented as attempts to seek solutions—are in fact aimed at securing the best political, security and military conditions for the Zionist regime.

Hawzah News Agency- The assembly warned that U.S. envoys come bearing blunt and explicit threats: either accept negotiations with the enemy, or Washington will enable the Zionist beast to carry out fresh massacres in Lebanon. The statement stressed that Islamic resistance, no matter how difficult the conditions, is capable of confronting such threats and possesses the means to defend Lebanon and its people. “No free Lebanese citizen will accept humiliating talks brokered by an American patron that serves only the interests of the Zionist enemy,” the assembly said.

The assembly condemned the targeting of innocent civilians by the Zionist enemy in the southern town of Al-Bayad, which resulted in the killing of two brothers, Hassan and Hussein Ibrahim Suleiman, in front of their mother. It urged the government to take the necessary measures to prevent a recurrence of such criminal acts.

The Assembly also denounced the actions of the Lebanese Forces and its allies for disrupting a parliamentary legislative session, an act that impeded consideration of draft laws and proposals on the agenda—many of which concern citizens, including reconstruction of infrastructure in the south and pensioners’ rights.

The statement categorically rejected any direct or indirect negotiations with the Zionist enemy, asserting that the enemy must first fulfill its obligations under UN Security Council Resolution 1701: withdraw from territories it still occupies in the south, return prisoners, cease aerial, ground and naval attacks, and commence reconstruction. Only after these conditions are met, the assembly said, can discussions on other matters related to stabilizing a ceasefire between Lebanon and the Zionist regime take place.

The Muslim Scholars’ Assembly extended its heartfelt congratulations and condolences to the al-Qassam Brigades on the martyrdom of two heroic resistance fighters, Abdullah Jalamna and Qais al-Baytawi, who—together with Ahmad Nashrati—were killed following fierce clashes with the occupation army west of Jenin.

The assembly further condemned repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty by the occupying Israeli army, citing most recently the establishment of a checkpoint on the Damascus-Quneitra Road at the Kawm Muhayras junction and the search of pedestrians—an overt breach of Syrian territorial integrity.

Finally, the assembly called on the Syrian people to take part in popular resistance against the Zionist occupier and to oblige it to withdraw from occupied lands.
